MattG728- You do not need a leter of intent for Communication but you will for PR. You do also need at least one letter of recommendation for Annenberg from an academic, college instructor.

Allow me to rephrase... it's clear you really want to attend Annenberg. But if you apply to two majors in the same school, the first of which is slightly easier to get in, and you don't get into the first one, there's probably no way you'll get into the second harder one & that'll be the end of the road. But it'll feel really great to go to the first academic advisement appointment and be congratulated on being one of ~75 out of ~800 to make it.

Here are a couple of resources that helped me out in the process:
ANNENBERG APPLICANTS:
http://annenberg.usc.edu/images/pdfs...guidelines.pdf

Communication is also the only major within Annenberg that suggests taking Statistics. Suggested=do it. All of the new Annenberg transfers I met at Orientation had everything done. Don't forget your third semester of a foreign language either, that's a must!

Woman.Of.Troy-

I took 3 years of spanish in high school, do I still have to take it in college? I thought if you went up to spanish 3 in high school colleges don't require you to take it? Maybe I'm wrong.

For ALL applicants:
USC ARR : Articulation
If you are attending a community college, this should be your absolute guide that tells you which courses are transferable under which GE category. Completing them will save you not only time and money, but will make you a stronger applicant because you're actually following the USC guidelines. Not very many incoming Juniors are admitted without finishing them because it's difficult to graduate on time without doing so.

MattG728- This link explains the foreign language requirement:

kmzizzle- No, Marshall has no foreign language requirement.

For everyone,
Here are the additional course reccomendations for every major at USC, contact numbers, and wether they require foreign language or not:

awesome, i would hate to take spanish again :|
my shots at marshall are slim though, only hope is upward grade trends.
Last year at SJSU: 3.15 (4 classes) -> 3.7 (5 classes)
and 3 more quarters to go.
Do they see summer classes as harder since it is crammed? Im taking econ1a and acct 1a (pre-reqs) right now and its only semi-difficult because its 10 weeks crammed into 5

kmzizzle- That's hard to determine since I'm not an admissions officer, haha. I see what you mean but you do have quite some time to go. And yes, upward trends are taken into account and very valuable. Ultimately, the cumulative GPA of every course you've ever taken is very important. Aim high, though. That's really the best advice I can give you. Aim high and achieve that.

amstrojan- I don't have the stats for each individual major for CLAS but for 2007 the average GPA of admitted transfers for CLAS was 3.7 as well as across USC like someone mentioned earlier. As the years go by the GPA of admitted transfer students gets higher. For instance, in 2006 the average GPA of accepted transfer students was 3.5 so that's a big jump in just one year. I would say a GPA near the 3.7 mark is very competitive for CLAS.

kmzizzle- You only need to do 1 essay.

In order to transfer to Marshall business school do you need to take the prerequisite class Math 118 or 125 (Business Calculus) at a community college?
