reread my post a few more times, understand it, and then you can repost another response.

We don't have an NFL team in L.A. We have to root for USC/UCLA.

no one is saying that you shouldn't root for USC or UCLA. i'm talking about the amount of people in this thread going "BOO UCLA SUCKS" when they don't even watch sports, haven't been accepted, and have no reason to boo another school. school pride when you're not attending the school or bandwagoning a team you don't even watch is completely IDIOTIC.

Sorry, Fat panda. I didn't know. The appeals process is really a long shot. They never grant them unfortunately.

even though appeals are a very low priority, doesn't mean you won't get in. what's with the discouraging!!! it doesn't HURT!
i appealed to UCSB, and sure it's not a school like uSC. but they accepted around 5-10 appeals out of the over 400 that appealed and i was one =)
USC MOM. it's like we all here don't know how to ride a bike and you won't even let us try by ourselves. we fall and learn. the oldest truth in the book. nothing different here. =)

Well, DX, humans are tribal. For the past 10,000 years, humans have needed to identify themselves with one particular group or another for survival. Feeling at one with your group and despising another, especially when it is UCLA, is normal and natural.

fatpanda/USC MOM - what is considered 'earth-shattering' enough for them to accept the appeal? (i am asking 'cause i have no idea if what i have is 'enough'.)

@fatpanda -
Ok, I haven't received my packet yet, so I don't know for sure, BUT I can log into the deposit page, and my status changed quickly, and all the other signs of 'acceptance' are pointing to me . . .
SO. This is my second time applying to USC! I did not get in last year, but I didn't give up. There are a lot of different factors that go into the application process. I did a lot of things different this year - completely different essay question and answers, raised my GPA from a 3.5 to a 3.7, joined some different clubs (not necessarily because it would look good for USC. . .) and beefed up my portfolio.
I think that if you really want it, you should apply again! Like I said, I don't know for SURE if I'm in or not, but unless the website is glitching (which it hasn't so far,) then I got in on the second time. It is possible!
I am also not the only second-timer who has been accepted on this board C:

@peppa - financial aid is a make or break issue for me. I can't accept just yet :C . I am going to ask them for an extension as soon as I get my packet!
