General Transfer SAT Questions

I am about to start my 2nd year in a community college and was hoping to apply to NYU, and Berkeley as a business major.

Unfortunately I have never taken the SATs or ACTs, one of which is required for NYU.

I plan to apply for transfer this coming november for the Fall 2009 semester.

Do I need to take the SATs or ACTs before a certain date so I can report it in my application. Or can I take it in January and report it to them later?

What is the difference between SATs and ACTs.
1. What schools generally prefer?
2. Easier/harder?

NYU won't even consider SATs taken after one year of college is complete. I believe you can still apply without any scores though.

USC said the same thing...SAT is supposed to predict how you will do in college. Most schools will not take SAT scores after one year of college for this very reason.

So will it hurt my chances since I can not submit the SAT or ACT scores?

I have a question to add. What happens if you took the SAT or ACT score in high school and you're applying to NYU as a junior? Do you still have to send them the score even after more than a year? I know that at some colleges, you don't. I have 30+ credits.

I could be wrong, but i thought that you are considered a junior if you have around 60 credits. If this is not the case, then you don't have to. However, when i applied, i sent it. I would only send it if you think it will help your application.
