NYU Transfer Questions

I was reading that the requirements for their business program includes:

"microeconomics, calculus, expository writing, and introductory accounting (a combination of managerial accounting and financial accounting totaling at least 6 semester hours)"

Is expository writing just an ordinary english composition class?

I hope to attend NYU in the Fall of 2009. Will they allow me to finish the accounting classes the summer before attending? Or do I need to finish it during the spring semester?

Anyone know if they give guaranteed scholarships based on completing the honors program?

Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure about expository writing counting as a regular English comp class, but I will bump this so someone else will answer your question. Oh and I am also applying transfer to NYU for the fall 09 semester! Best of luck!

creativeport: If you are transferring as a sophomore, you don't need to take any accounting classes. But be sure to take calc and econ since both show your ability to accel in business-related courses. I took mico/macro econ, two calc courses, and a writing course and was accepted to Stern (sophomore transfer). As long as you do those, I'm sure you will be fine. As far as the expository writing class, I'm sure an english comp class will suffice since the english course shows your ability to create a coherent argument and being able to support it. Good luck!

thx for the info ckm. Just one more thing, if somebody takes a higher class than a calc one and something higher than micro/macro econ, will it hurt him or not?
Coz a friend of mine is getting credits for all these classes and he wants to take more advanced classes than these
