De Anza Q

I know theres a large group of De Anza kids here, so I just wanted to ask, did you guys get your COUNS100 class schedule already? I'm out of town so I have NO IDEA where it starts, adn my online DeAnza portal doesn't tell me the date! Also, does it make a difference being in Honors at De Anza or not? Is it hard?

I'm a former De Anza students. I'm not sure about the couns100 schedule. Are you talking about the Fall or the Summer session? If you know the call number you should be able to find out about it in the schedule of classes. As for Honors, they DO make a good impression on transfer institutions. The difficulty of the classes depend on the instructor. I took mine in the liberal arts/humanities. It usually involved an additional paper and some extra reading. Not sure about the sciences though (history major here).

Be proactive about it and call De Anza up for the date and time.

Honors depends on the teacher, but if you really want to make the best out of it, take it with a professor that demands a lot but is also supportive. The more you put into it, the more you get out of it. Just having an H on your transcript won't mean as much as having a professor that appreciates your work and is willing to go the extra mile for getting you successfully transferred.
