Transfer Chances: UIUC, UMass, Cornell, UC Davis, Texas AM, McGill, others.

Welcome to my chances thread!
Please feel free to take a moment to tell me what you think my chances are for any of the schools I've listed are.

There are EXTRA CREDIT POINTS available for those who ALSO take the time to predict what financial aid award each of the listed schools will offer to an out of state, independent, EFC=0, transfer student. And who doesn't like extra credit points? (Really, I am just curious if any of the schools are particularly well suited or particularly poorly suited to my financial situation...)

Thank you for participating in my chances thread,
Uuu

The Schools Which Are On My List
(I would be applying to the agricultural colleges of these schools)

*University of British Columbia
*Cornell University (CALS)
*McGill University
*University of Massachusetts, Amherst
*University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
*Texas A&M University, College Station
*Iowa State University
*University of California, Davis

My stats: a summary:

3.562 GPA, cumulative for 200 credits, including 90 vocational credits.
3.7 (something) (and rising) GPA, for 120 “transferable”, academic credits. (Hopefully of more interest to admissions?)

High School:

Attended arts magnet school. Class of '03. GPA was 2.56 I think? Something like that. Band kid. I think I got 1100 or 1200 on the SATs, but I don't really recall.

Community College:

Fall 2003
Music Theory: B
Ear Training: A

Fall 2004
Vocational Program: 15 credits at 3.0 quarterly gpa

Winter 2005
Vocational Program: 15 credits at 3.13 quarterly gpa

Spring 2005
Vocational Program: 15 credits at 3.53 quarterly gpa

Summer 2005
Integrated Chemistry (non-majors level): B

Fall 2005
Vocational Program: 15 credits at 3.80 quarterly gpa

Winter 2006
Vocational Program: 18 credits at 3.78 quarterly gpa

Spring 2006
Vocational Program: 15 credits at 3.80 quarterly gpa
Vocational Internship

Fall 2006
General Chemistry: A
English Composition: A
Passed a pass/fail PE class

Winter 2007
General Chemistry: A
Trigonometry: B+
General Nutrition: A

Spring 2007
General Chemistry: A
Quantitative Inorganic Analysis: B+
College Algebra: A
Employment Law: A

Summer 2007
Public Speaking: B
Technical Report Writing: A
Calculus I: B

Fall 2005
Organic Chemistry: B
Calculus II: B

Winter 2006
Organic Chemistry: A
General Biology: B
Physics w/ calculus: A

Spring 2006
Organic Chemistry: A
Introduction to Qualitative Organic Analysis: A
Technical Report Writing II: A-
Physics w/ calculus: A

Summer 2008
General Biology: A
Physics w/ calculus: (in progress, but probably an A)

By the time I apply, I may have gained some foreign language credits and calculus credits. I think that it is feasible for me to get my “transferable credit” GPA to a point between 3.7 and 3.8. I have so many vocational credits though, that the cumulative GPA will likely not reach above a 3.6.

Besides just plain “chances”, I am curious for any advice about how I might improve my transcript. Is it a worthwhile effort to take humanities/ social science classes just to prove that I can? (I am very heavy on the science classes...)

Also, I am an infinitely better test taker now than I was in HS. Would it be worth the pain of going into a dingy High School and taking the SAT again? I think I could score much much better now, if I practice. But I can only see this "helping" in a small number of scenarios... But it might be fun?
