1) get firefox if you dont already have it, which of course you should

2)download the chatzilla extension

3)run the extension

4) type the following 2 lines

/server radon.slashnet.org

/j cc

5)youre in

Hey, I'm sorry guys, my computer got messed up as there was a power surge.
However as long as there is someone in the channel it will stay open.
Once, I fix my computer I'll be there again.

Probably the best terminal-based IRC client is Irssi: http://www.irssi.org. If you're on windows xchat is pretty good.
