dufflebag is harsh, but much of what he said is correct. OP, you are probably very intelligent, but it is so hard to predict the next 2 years based on a month! it's been, what, 5 weeks? this is the equivalent of a high school freshman going to HS for a month and a half and then coming on the yale thread and being like, "I predict a 4.0 for the next 2 years! Chance me!"
I know completely how you feel though. I have also thought numerous times of putting up chance threads where I list my HS stats and what I hope to achieve in college to see where I stand, but I realize dreaming of a 4.0 and achieving it are two different things. good luck.

i go to oberlin
they are, compared to similar institutions, very good at getting very smart and creative people here...i have friends who go to nyu, lehigh, uva, etc., and find myself a little taken back by how well they manage to do and how poor their writing skills are...also, all new professors have phd's, so the level of discourse is fairly advanced as well

My Dad actually is a graduate of Oberlin, you don't have to convince me about Oberlin being a good school, I had no idea it was "notoriously difficult" though. Wouldn't you say most top 25 universities and LAC are difficult? Or is there like a crazy weight system at Oberlin.

no weight system here, i've never been at a school with a weight system so that always confuses me on here
most top lac's are, relatively speaking, difficult sure...oberlin usually ranks around #20 (last time i checked, might have moved a couple of spots either way) in LAC's...however, i can say with a good deal of confidence that oberlin is a good deal tougher than lots of the schools ahead of it in the rankings

While dbj is harsh, I would have to agree with one of his points, it is going to be very difficult to transfer to the level colleges you're looking at due to your 3.2 UW HS gpa. As a sop transfer, your HS record and test scores will carry the most weight as you will only have completed one sem/qt of college work by the time you apply. Because of this, it is hard to "transfer up" as a sop. It is a much more reasonable expectation as a jr transfer after you have shown marked improvement in your college record.

all your opinions, positive or negative
| I took you at your word.
PM or not, no one here can know 100% yea or nay. However, we can give you our thoughts based on your OP and our knowledge of the transfer process. That's what you asked for, or was it just a rubber stamp?
