reply date before another school's notification date?

what's the procedure if a school wants a reply before you are notified by a second school?
specifically, unc wants a reply by 5/11, and gtown doesn't let me know until 6/1
is there a way i can get gtown to let me know a little earlier?

send your deposit, if you get into the other school and want to go there notify UNC, you;ll just lose your deposit and they'll fill your spot w/ someone from the waitlist. G-town won't notify you earlier.

above post has it right. The cost of the UNC deposit sucks to lose if you're admitted to Georgetown. But it will guarentee a placement on your accepted admittance to UNC while waiting for Georgetown.

If don't want to deposit money for UNC then you're gambling big on a chance at Georgetown.

I have same problem. I was accepted to Pepperdine but they want a $750 deposit. That's a little more significant than fifty bucks. I'm going to call and see if I can delay paying the money for a couple more weeks.

WOW a $750 deposit is insane. I hope you don't have to pay the whole thing. And I thought U of M's $200 deposit was high...

My daughter has the same problem. She has to send $500 deposit into Bentley by 5/7 and is still waiting to hear from BU and NEU. We're going to send it in at the last min to hold her place. Best of luck to everyone.

All of the seemingly rash advice aside, have you tried talking to UNC? Tell the school about your circumstances, and I'm sure you could work something out. If not, then follow the advice of others on here.

UMich was not interested in working anything out. The guy on the phone kept insisting it was non-refundable.
