Brandnew, Congrats!! Even though it was expected, i imagine how great it must feel to have tangible evidence that is true. Hope to receive one as well (and soon lol)!!

Side note- Finished watching Julie and Julia. Ugh, loved it! Perfect film for me. Let's do some math, shall we? French Food + France + Meryl Streep + Stanley Tucci + Amy Adams not singing= Perfect film for me. Its not a masterpiece certainly but its a heartwarming, happy film. God knows we need more films like that these days I miss the days when movies use to have substance. Now it seems a 12 year old can get a movie deal. Ok, I'll stop now I won't go into a total rambling mode about my love for cinema. I promise

I'm off to bed. I find the more time I spend awake the slower time goes by. Hopefully I will open my eyes and its mid November and I will have a beautiful angelic envelope waiting for me at my mail box. Good night everybody.

Congrats Brandnew. Were you able to log in to the housing portal right after your acceptance?

Yay Lacey, kiss that CC goodbye!

Um, so question mark, guessing I should call on Monday to get my answer because after emailing CALS back about me having mailed the transfer grades a week and a half ago, I was away all day today and came back to a no response. Not sure if they're in the offices much on Saturdays either, but again I'm gone all day....I'd just like to have some confirmation that they definitely *have* looked everywhere and don't have my envelope for whatever reason, and *then* I'll have to go back to all my teachers on Tuesday and collect midterm grades.

[/heavy sigh] they could just make it easier on me and say mmkay in..hahaha. I shouldn't say anything like that >.<

Most people on here are confident in me, so I guess I am too. Most of my friends think I'm definitely in, even my parents are nodding toward yes. But I just need the reassurance..I've gotta know....stupid midterm mess..

I agree with you completely east. Monday was like that for me, I did absolutely nothing all day except say 'CORNELL OMG' it was complete and utter torture. I just hope we can all get our decisions quick and painlessly, good or bad just so we can get it over with (which is why I think it's complete nonsense you guys don't hear until December. I mean jeez..c'mon, there's like 40 applicants tops, seriously.)

Anyway, non-Cornell talk, just saw 'The Box'. weird movie. Cameron Diaz is hot..

Then I walked around the mall/Target with a friend on a friday night because we totally have nothing better to do than be middle school kids, hahaha.

No, everyone can't access the housing portal. I tried yesterday.

Water, why didn't you just fax the report in? I did it and called them back within 20 minutes to make sure everything was cool and they confirmed that they got it.

Most people here/my parents/my friends/my teachers are very confident in me, too...Actually, no, my mom's like "Don't get too invested in this, it's more difficult than you think," thanks, mom. Lol. But the rest of everyone is all like, "I'm sure you'll have no problem, I'm sure you'll get in..." For my teachers, I'm pretty sure it's because they know me and my work ethic. For my art school friends, I'm pretty sure they're just being polite and nice. For my high school friends, they too knew me in high school and who I am. And for me, I know my situation and I do not feel good about it right now because the people who are looking at my app definitely do not know me except through my essays.

There's a huge party going on outside and I live on the 10th floor of a building, and I can still hear the music 2 blocks away. Weee!

I'm sure your midterm grades are on their way, and besides, it's not your fault they don't have them yet...They're also very understanding about schools not giving midterm grades out until after the deadline anyway.

I also faxed my midterm report grades in, but I waited a day to ask to see if they received it, and they said it wasn't in the system/don't have them, should I be worried? :/

Haha, east, well the problem was my chem grade was unavailable just yet (and probably not too great of a grade at the time, a C+ probably) and my Psych grade had been signed as a C+ but it wasn't, it was a B she just hadnt graded that weeks work yet. I know it sounds like an excuse for bad grades when I say it like this, but my grades really weren't that bad. I just wanted to get it in before the deadline of Nov. 1st, so my teachers had to come up with rough estimates based on a lousy four-five assignments and maybe our first test in each class. SOOO, I mailed them because I attached a letter saying 'my chem grade wasnt ready yet, my psych grade has improved tremendously, blablabla' and I know I can't say that this time around since I can't fax over nonsense.

I mailed them at the post office, then came home to find an email asking me to fax them over. But when I mailed them, I didn't make a copy, so I just emailed back saying 'they were mailed, should be in your office by Saturday at the latest'..now it's a week and a half later, and I guess they said they didn't get them (don't know how that happens, because if *they* don't have them, then the envelope should have come back to us, but it hasn't.)

Thanks, Az. =]! I know it'll all work out, just the time that kills me..and I have a ton of confidence in you in particular, I think Cornell would see you as a unique opportunity fit and that the way you presented it is appealing.

blahhhhhhhhhhh after today my confidence has plummeted. i'm up against all these 4.0s and other HD majors in general, when riley and i were the only humec applicants on here and i'm sure there are tons of others who didn't make it today and who don't stalk CC. boo.

I dreamt last night I got into Cornell Sadly it was only a dream....

Water, how was Box? I want to see it, cuz I love the twilight episode that had that same story line. I wonder how much Hollywood screwed it up lol

Ironic, remember 4.0 GPA isn't everything. You'll get in. Trust yourself

It was well done, but weird. And I'm sure you'll probably dislike it because of the twilight zone episode (which i never saw). They didn't explain a lot in it.

Lacey, you're IN!!!! It must be such a relief! I'm so happy for you. Now you can relax.
Even though I'm a GT, but I'm still "on edge"....waiting for that "big white envelope!"
We are guaranteed, but are still reviewed and given a decision. I can't feel at ease, until I see my acceptance in writing.
I'm sending you a BIG HUG!!!
See you soon Lacey.
