Yeah, I think I do. If anything, I'll PM you on here. Have you gotten your housing/schedule yet? Did most of your credits transfer?

Viola, don't worry about transferring credits. Im a junior transfer and they gave me the maximum number of credits possible, which is 60.

Do you know how credit transfers work? I'm actually hoping they make me a sophomore transfer and not a junior transfer, because otherwise I'm missing 8 credits worth of prereq courses for junior transfers...=(
Most of my credits from college are art classes, though. (2D, Drawing, 3D) So maybe those won't translate.

Hey, I'm not sure if those would transfer. All of my classes were academic classes so I'm not sure how your situation will work. But if you have other academic classes along with your art classes, those will definately transfer. I would call Ian to make sure.

I'm applying to CALS for animal sciences (prevet). I do have an insane amount of AP credits, and a minute amount of academic credits from RISD (which I'm not sure count...). Ian is the ILR transfer guy, right? I guess I'll call CALS tomorrow =)

viola, macgruber would know more about the housing than me, but ive talked to a bunch of kids who say theyve gotten their schedules (made for them) already and that housing has been assigned.

as far as the deferred kids, i got a letter saying "if you chose to take more classes in the fall, we'll hit you up for a Mid Grade Report sometime in november."

so since im taking micro and stats in the fall at another college, theyre gonna see how im doing then. unfortunately, they can take away my admissions if i dont get a 3.3 or atleast a B in both classes..... :[ lameeez. but yeah haha i guess like after that they'll be like "woot! good job! you've been accepted!" because Ian said we didn't ahve to apply again, thank god haha

So what will be the intake like for this spring? Brandnew I you said they gave a lot of deferrals from the fall. Do you have any idea how many? This is definitely bad news for us prospectives as spots are already being filled.

i was going to call to make another appointment with my transfer counselor and ask about that spot situation. when i get the courage and find out when i have time to go (i'll be there during orientation, so i don't know if they'll let me talk to anyone then), i'll report back.

Is Cornell basing their initial decision on your midterm grades? Or will they go ahead and give you conditional acceptance before they see your midterm grades. Also, are they interested in class rank? If so, are they looking for your rank for the specific program you are in or for the whole school?

i would assume they base it on midterm grades since they ask for them, to make sure that you're keeping up the good work that you have (presumably) already completed. the commonapp official's form does have a place for school seal and rank, so they are. they will most likely see your rank for your year.

I emailed Ian a couple weeks ago about the spring spots. He said there should be just as many as usual... They may defer some for next fall
