Northeastern University vs UMD

I will be a junior in the fall and have to make the decision of whether to stay at northeastern or transfer to maryland. I am an economics major and have heard many good things about the economics department at maryland. Attending Maryland would save my family about 20k a year. but northeastern has a great co-op program and I have alot of frineds there. After school I am looking to either go into the finance industry, work for the government, or go to law school. I have to make a decision in the next ten days so the deadline is coming quickly.
If anyone has any useful information or advice I would appreciate the input.

Finance Industry: I don't think either school is a target for investment banks, beyond that I have no relevant knowledge.

Government: Choose the cheaper option.

Law School: Choose the school which is cheapest, has the most grade inflation, and which offers the strongest courses in pure math and philosophy (they are considered to be the best preperation for law school).

In your shoes I would choose Maryland, but it is definitely up to you. 20k is equivalent to a fat bank account, a nice new car, and the freedom to either not work during school or graduate debt free.

But then again if a lot of friends go to Northeastern, that might make it worth it. Are they really close friends? If they are, then you should weigh that heavily. College is much, much better if you are going with people who you like to hang out with.
