| Should I Even Bother Applying?
I am debating whether to apply to Marshall. Right now I attend UC Davis as an Economics Major. I have a low GPA 3.3. I have solid A's in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, and Statistics. However I got C's in Calculus. My GE's range from a C+ in Chemistry, the Applied Science GE, with B's in the other GE's. I will be taking the writing requirement in the Fall and hopefully will get an A.
I applied to USC out of HS, but as a science major by the pressure of my parents... stupid mistake I had nothing to back that up. I went to Lowell HS (#39 on USNews), with a weighted gpa of 3.83. My SAT score was a 2100 (630V, 780M, 690W) SAT II (620Lit, 780USH). AP's Passed European History, US History, Psychology, English Language, MicroEconomics, MacroEconomics.
With a good year I could probably have my gpa up to a 3.55 at the end of this upcoming year. I have good extracurrics and writing a good essay shouldn't be a problem. But I still feel I'd probably fall short. Should I retake my SAT to get that verbal score up? Would that help? Any suggestions would be helpful, or just smacking me with the truth would be also helpful.
