Thanks for the heads up! It's a pretty nifty way they put it all together. I imagine it will make the whole process easier with financial aid and application links all in the same portal. Here's the link for anybody that wants to check it out too. Interesting stuff.

Should I Even Bother Applying?

I am debating whether to apply to Marshall. Right now I attend UC Davis as an Economics Major. I have a low GPA 3.3. I have solid A's in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, and Statistics. However I got C's in Calculus. My GE's range from a C+ in Chemistry, the Applied Science GE, with B's in the other GE's. I will be taking the writing requirement in the Fall and hopefully will get an A.
I applied to USC out of HS, but as a science major by the pressure of my parents... stupid mistake I had nothing to back that up. I went to Lowell HS (#39 on USNews), with a weighted gpa of 3.83. My SAT score was a 2100 (630V, 780M, 690W) SAT II (620Lit, 780USH). AP's Passed European History, US History, Psychology, English Language, MicroEconomics, MacroEconomics.
With a good year I could probably have my gpa up to a 3.55 at the end of this upcoming year. I have good extracurrics and writing a good essay shouldn't be a problem. But I still feel I'd probably fall short. Should I retake my SAT to get that verbal score up? Would that help? Any suggestions would be helpful, or just smacking me with the truth would be also helpful.

If you have more than 30 units, they don't look at SAT scores or anything from High school. I believe they just look at what you're currently doing right now in UC you're attending. Only if you have less than 30 units they would look at your scores, so there would be no need to take your SAT's again.

@Victrola - You should try to apply. Just keep in mind that this next semester/quarter you have to really make sure you get the grades you are aiming for. USC loves upward trends in grades. I know Marshall is pretty competitive but just really emphasize your ECs along with a great essay. If you get your GPA up to a 3.5+ range that would definitely do you some good. That's my goal for this upcoming school year. Like shakez07 said, if you completed 30 units by the time you apply, then SAT/high school record won't matter much which that you wouldn't have to retake the SAT. I say go for it and give it a shot

I'll be applying to USC Marshall for 2010 Fall transfer as well. 3.9 gpa, 95 creds(I'm crazy), good leadership ec's, non-trad transfer from a cc with all business and GE cat prereqs completed. I've been looking into off campus housing in the neighborhood as well as downtown if anyone is interested in chatting and sharing research on that topic. Good luck to everyone!

Thanks for the advice guys. It's also difficult because Davis uses the quarter system rather than a semester so I think 30 credits USC is 45 credits Davis. I guess I might as well give it a shot. I believe I read correctly for the ge's they would take a 4 unit class from davis, which is equivalent to a 2.67 unit class at SC. Also making it difficult is the lack of articulation agreements between the two schools. I hope that makes it less rigid. I shall pursue my dream of being a Trojan!

TheGoldFinch: the same thing happened to me. I just registered again with the same email address and profile info and when I saved the profile it took me to the page where I had part I saved already.

Does a CCC student with 3.5 have a decent chance of getting into USC as a Philosophy major?
