UC transfer to CSU

So I just transferred to UC this fall from community college and now want to change my major, but the problem is they don't have the major I want here. I was looking into CSUF for their Communications program and am really interested in that...basically my question is how would I go about transferring to CSFullerton? Do I pretty much have to apply there and get accepted? I have an appointment with my college adviser next week so I though I would ask here.

Thanks for the help!

Yes, I believe you have to go through the transfer process again. You have until November 30th to apply to the CSUs.

You should research if Communication is impacted at the CSU campus/es you want to apply to.

Are you sure you need to transfer? I understand there might not be a Communications degree at your UC, but isn't there something similar you could convert or adapt to get similar training? Why delay your track toward graduation and move "down the food chain" so to speak?" You could always go to grad school in a specialty. And, what's to say you won't change your mind in another 3 months about Communications? Your wanting to change a major suddenly is what I'd be most curious about -- I would also wonder if you aren't giving your new UC enough time in order to settle yourself in. It isn't unusual for it to take a quarter or two for a transfer student to feel at home at their new transfer college.

Anything related to the Communication industry would give preference to those with work and internship experience than those with a degree in"communications." I don't know which UC you attend, but you're bound to have resources at your UCs in the career center with internships related to Communication. Just supplement whatever you study with internships and work experience. Just because you want to do something in Communication in a career does not mean you have to major in it, and vise versa just because you major in something does not mean you have to or even will get the chance to do something in that major.

My current major is Global Studies and I just realized I am not interested in this at all. I looked for other majors I might want to peruse here (UCR) but there is nothing that interests me. Although I was looking at the Media and Culture Studies programs but I just know that it's crap which is why I want to go to CSUF.
