Hoping to transfer to USC!

Hey guys, I just graduated high school this year, and I'm now attending a CCC. I'm looking into transfering to USC (Marshall) for Business Administration. Here are some stats:

White/Male
High School GPA: 3.8-3.9 UW/4.0-4.1 W

SAT: 1880 (CR:630/M:590/W:660)
AP scores:
(Junior Year) Eng. Lang and Comp: 2
(Junior Year) Env. Science: 2
(Senior Year) Statistics: 2
(Senior Year) Env. Science: 3
(Senior Year) Eng. Lit and Comp: 3
(Senior Year) US Government: 4
(Senior Year) Biology: 4
(Senior Year) Psychology: 5

Right now I'm taking 12 units (4 classes) at my CCC, three of which are honors. I have only one pre-req for Marshall in progress this semester (Honors Macroeconomics), and I plan on taking My other pre-reqs (Honors Critical Thinking and Writing and Honors Microeconomics, as well as Business Calculus) during the spring semester along with 2 other classes (total of 19 units for Spring semester).

Right now, I'm expecting to get around a 3.75-4.0 GPA for this semester.

I have the following extracurricular activites:
Marching band in high school (4 years, a lot of time and commitment)
Concert band in high school (4 years)
NHS (2 years)
CSF (1 year)
Business Club (I'm holding an officer position as an ICC Representative currently at my CCC)
SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise, I am the Secretary of our on campus organization at my CCC)
Student Activites Committee (Student government, I am a student at large member for the committee)

So do I stand a decent shot? Also, I'm considering taking the ACT in December. Is it worth it? I know my SAT is a little low for USC and I know that since it's my first semester, my high school record will be paramount for USC's decision. I need to know ASAP because the deadline is tomorrow, so quick replies are much appreciated!

I don't know if this applies, but I think you need 30 transfer credits?

I'll have over 30 units by the end of this spring. I'm taking 12 now, and around 19 next semester.

Honestly I would be surprised if you got in, especially for Marshall. Your weak AP scores combined with relatively weak SATs and the high UW GPA can signify a weak HS curriculum, and since you would be a sophomore transfer, they place a lot of weight on your HS record still.

@StigmataMartyr

my cousin got into Marshall as a transfer. His hs stats were actually inferior to yours, and he did not even have his SAT scores. He was a soph transfer btw. The 30 unit rule applies to units in progress as well. Furthermore, since you will probably be done with the classes before you recieve admissions, you will be fine. Best of luck to you. Hope to see you next year at SC (im trying to transfer too lol)

I mean you have a shot but if I was an adcom I would see those stats that I mentioned and it could raise some eyebrows.

Thanks SFwarrior25, best of luck to you with your application and your admittance.

Knights09, that's true, but from what I've heard USC is big on growth. I did horrible on my APs my junior year, but I definetly improved my senior year (self-studied Psych).

I've talked to my honors counselor at my CC (who has seen my HS transcript, and AP scores) and she thinks that I have a really good shot.

Anyways, thanks for your input you guys. I'm thinking that my best option, in terms of the ACT, is to wait until next year to take it (assuming I don't get into USC for this upcoming fall), that way I can show my score to USC and the UCs for fall '11.
