Doesn't bother me at all, ihateapplying. You are 100% right that no one can really be accurate in these things, especially with "borderline" cases. I often won't do chance threads for exactly that reason, they really are kind of worthless. Of course once there is a decision they are not borderline, lol.
izzys, you may well be right, I may have been a bit conservative before. The other reason these are not useful though is we really cannot see your full application and how it all pieces together. Between that and the fact that we have no idea how many applications they are getting and of what quality, our guesses are only that. Now with very high (or very low) stat students, it is easier, but even in the latter case we cannot know if they are a URM, or if we do know that how much of a factor that is, or if their parents gave millions to Tulane, or whatever. Just too many unknowns and we are not the admissions office. I wish you the very best of luck. Sounds like you really want Tulane! That's a good thing, and if that came across it will help also.
