Merit Scholarships @ Tulane? True or False?

A recent admit to Tulane told me that the school revoked merit scholarships for the second tier of merit scholarship recipients because a big donor backed out...is this true? I'm just wondering...it seems shady to me.

I honestly cannot imagine that, but I will see what I can find out.

OK, I heard back from people that work at Tulane (and they also checked with other people that are in the administration just to be 100% sure) and this seems to be entirely baseless. If your recent admit friend can provide evidence, it would be interesting since no one else seems to know what they are talking about.

Thanks for this information. I was curious about this myself, as I am a "second tier" scholarship recipient, but it turns out the admit lied about this information to justify his rejection from other schools. I don't understand why someone would do this, but since the situation concerned me, I felt I needed to investigate further.

Understandable that you would want to clarify this. We see a lot of weird behavior on here due to rejections. Although I have to admit, in this case I am not sure how this particular lie helped make their rejection seem more justified. Oh well, just irrational I guess.
