3 weeks? One week of showing complete? Are you kidding? LOL, no you should not be concerned.

Some people's expectations are getting a little out of whack. Tulane is a very highly selective school, they don't process and decide on applications lightly.

Having said that, you look like you would have a good shot at getting in, assuming you did the Why Tulane essay and there is nothing in your record that would raise a red flag we cannot see. But especially now that we are in the later part of the EA/SCEA cycle, it might take a little time before you hear. Or you might hear tomorrow. But you should have no expectations other than hearing by December 15.

Okay, thank you so much. With people starting to receive acceptance letters I got pretty worried. I did in fact do the Why Tulane essay as well as attend an event hosted by Tulane in my area. I've never had disciplinary problems or anything of that nature so there are no red flags. It is my number one so I've had extreme anxiety over it. Thanks again for all of your help!

I understand, anxiety seems to be a little higher this year in general. Most of the people getting acceptances got their stuff in a few weeks ago at least. But you did everything right. Good SAT, good GPA (is that weighted or UW?), showed interest. Although you dont say how many AP courses you have taken/are taking. Assuming you have taken at least a few, as I have said before, you have done absolutely everything you could have to maximize your chances. It is out of your hands now, nothing more you can do. So try to relax and distract yourself with other activities.

That GPA is unweighted, my school doesn't weight them. I've taken 6 APs in total. US, Enviro, Euro, Stats, Psych, and English. I've also taken Italian and Spanish for 3 years and French for 1 year.

Then what I said stands. You have a great record and look like a very likely candidate to me. So try to relax and have fun, things will unfold in time.

Hi! Sorry about the delay darling CC community....it was my youngest's bday so we got caught up in celebrating that AND the soon-to-be college girl's 20K Academic Scholarship to Tulane!! We were so surprised because, given the high stats/impressive resumes here on this Board, we didn't expect any merit award. The envelope was indeed very pretty and the letter inside so warm, welcoming and...well...flattering! Thanks for the "wake her up" suggestions, by the way! I did end up texting her when I was out buying balloons and she sent me a picture of the letter with a "you're welcome for being so smart" tagline and a jk emoji. Hang in there JPAD21 and thanks for the well wishes from everyone.

YAYAY MOF3!!!! I know some of us were wondering privately if you met with an unfortunate accident after waking a kid who really really really liked her naps!

That, Vitrac, could TOTALLY happen. My girl LOVES her naps (infrequent though they are these days). She is overjoyed, as are we. In all of her interactions with Tulane admissions/students during this process, they have been so kind, genuine and engaged (just like FC is here on this board). She feels honored to be included in this awesome community.

And if it wasn't for CC, she would never have sent that app in so early....so heartfelt thanks to this kind community as well!

mofthree - What great news. This is a wonderful community here. The Tulane thread on CC may be a bit unique, from what others say. In any case, it is especially nice to see young people succeeding from all the work they put in during high school. It's kind of like she made $20,000 per year for her efforts, which is pretty sweet.

Hope you get a chance to visit soon.

Thanks FC. I do think this thread is unique. D and Dad visited T this summer and it was clear that Tulane and she are a great match! Plus she loves the food and culture in NoLa.

Rydert I think I sent you an email with answers to your PM questions, since I can't yet do that (I have 5 public posts!) via pm. Let me know if you got it! I am very new to CC posting.

Well, if she liked it in the summer when New Orleans is so hot and humid, then she will really like it October-April when it is generally more comfortable. Plus, I would be worried about anyone that didn't like the food! Sounds like we have a winner. Or is she going to wait and see what some other schools say?
