Just curious - do most kids stay at school during their fall break?

I don't know about most kids, but I'm pretty sure mine is planning on staying. I have threatened to go visit her that weekend since S16 has Friday and Monday of that weekend off. I'm not sure if she'll agree to that when the time comes though. Haha

It's a real mix. Not sure of the breakdown, but if a majority stay on campus it is a healthy minority that go home. My guess is that between one quarter and one third go home. I think one reason a lot of freshmen may not is that it is so close to parent's weekend.

Mine are staying. Also, there is a big concert in NOLA that weekend.

I was under the impression the kids in the business school have classes over that break. D will be staying either way as we will be down on Parent's Weekend for a visit.

D2 is starting to get her TU application ready - yikes!

Looks like it may be the grad students in the bus school that have classes...

10-13(TH-SUN) FALL BREAK GRAD BS - does not observe Fall Break - classes as usual
    LS - OCT 7-13(M-SUN)
SW - does not observe Fall Break - classes as usual

It seems like a big expense to fly S home for essentially 2 full days when we will see him the weekend before...though that weekend is the Penn State Michigan game that we will go to in PA - D1 is a senior - he would love for us the fly him to State College! I am thinking it will be a good time for him to catch up on school work (???).

My son hasn't decided what he's doing yet. He will either stay on campus or fly to Dallas to visit my sister. He's also going to Dallas for Thanksgiving break so he won't be back here in Maine until Christmas! :-(

My son is staying too. It's so close to Parents Weekend. I think that it will be a fun time to be on campus with no classes.

I didn't even know about Fall Break. I'm wondering about Thanksgiving. My inclination is to fly down there rather than bring him up to the cold. Right now his return ticket is December 18th.
