Just accepted to UCSC!!!
I just checked online today at 7:00am!!! GPA 3.3 at a CCC. English major. SC is not my first choice but it is nice to read the word "congratulations" for a change. Still waiting for some other UC decisions.

Just got my admission packet. I was right it listed all major with the excepion of engineering department and art major can petiton in after taking classes there. Guess I should of just tagged elsewhere

It came either on friday or saturday to the new place we just moved into. I received my admit decision on monday after a few ccer called to fix the tag thing

I have still not heard anything and the wait is driving me crazy... i visited the campus over summer and really loved it here, would be pretty bummed to not get in. i have a 3.4, IGETC completed, psych major.... dont know if this has to do with me applying to ucla too...just wish they would tell me already.. its been over 2 weeks since the first batch!

@ frsh24: When did you get admitted? When I first got admitted it didn't say anything. But several days later I received an email from the dept of my major.

In the acceptance page they had a FAQ section and this is taken directly from that:

The portal says that I'm admitted but doesn't mention anything about my major. Was I accepted into my major?

In most cases, students are admitted to the university with a "proposed major" and later petition the department to officially declare the major after completing course work within the discipline. Transfer students in the art major and any of the engineering majors are exceptions. Please see admissions.ucsc.edu/majors and advising.ucsc.edu/roadmap/premajors for more information about your proposed major.


I should add that on the portal, if you go Main Menu > Update Major, it should say what your "proposed major" is. Mine reads:

i'm a comp sci major so it's pretty much either get accepted to major or it was a bust applying to ucsc with tag.
