Stupid Counselors..

So I got accepted into UCSD under an impacted major BioChemistry/Biology and in march I sent a message to change my major because my counselor told me it would be best not to apply for an impacted major and I was happy when I got accepted into the impacted major... and they received the message a month later and now change my major to Biochemistry/Chemistry. Does it really matter whether you are in an impacted major if applying to med school? Is their a way to change my major back?

No, they don't care if you are a dance major as long as you have all the required classes completed. Most people just go Bio because the requirements for the degree and Med school requirements almost completely match.

Probably not until after you start at SD and petition to change it. The Bio department will review it, you need a certain GPA, other requirements...

Med schools couldn't care less about your college major...it's irrelevant. They're only looking to see if you've tackled the premed track (yr of Chem, O-chem, Bio, Calc, and Physics), have a competitive GPA along with tons of volunteering, shadowing, and other extracurriculars.

Unfortunately, the odds of UCSD allowing you to go back into an impacted major are low, though if you feel you are more passionate or comfortable with the biology side of biochem, you can at least try and see.
