UCD Transfer Thread Fall 2012

Hey, so anyways this thread can be used for newly accepted transfers to UCD. I just got accepted... To start things off,

1. What classes are you guys taking? I'm taking HIS194C, POL126, ANT148A, UWP001 (Apparently my 3 on AP exam doesn't satisfy lower division writing requirement).

2. What are some good teachers / classes that you have heard anything about, if you've heard anything at all.

3. Are you guys staying at UCD SHA? What have you heard about those?

4. Major?

1. I'm taking Math 115A, Math 25, STA 138, SAS 30 (some elective my orientation leader told me to take...)

2. I heard the professor for SAS 30 is hilarious. All of my math professors are TBA.

3. Yes...I think we're getting a apartment-mate survey mid July.

4. Mathematics & Statistics.

Damn. I guess unless the major is the same we wont have any intertwining classes, though maybe we may take the same upper div electives. I think I will take upper div electives to find out what I want to double major in. I'm pretty sure about double majoring.

I'm International Relations.

That's really valuable. When do we find out which apartment we're in as well as the apartment mates? Also, do you think in the special requests or additional comments section (or w/e it's called) we could request a SHA? Because I'm really really looking towards the Lexington. It's right behind In-N-Out and relatively close to campus compared to the other SHA's. The way to campus is on the path that goes along the River/Lake.

@TaLLLu I believe we get our housing decisions in August as well as our apartment mate(s) (?). I don't think we can request a specific SHA boooooo.

I am also a transfer student for fall 2012. I am taking a light load first quarter as I know the transition to the quarter system will take some adjusting. I just went to transfer orientation yesterday and they suggested taking it easy the first quarter was a good idea to start off with a good GPA.

1. Ant 144, Music 11, History 7A, EDU 198, total of 14 units.

I chose to take two lower division classes as I know they will be a bit easier and they are both pre reqs for classes I want to take later. The EDU 198 is a special class for older re-entry students (like me) to help us a bit.

2. Some good profs I have read about on Rate my Professor. com when i was searching around are: Marie Basile- History, Laura Amador - Spanish, Simon Abramowitsch - Univ. Writing Prog., Ari Kelman - History, Kathryn Olmsted - History.

3.Don'y now about UCD SHA.

4. Anthropology
