Igetc problem

I am a computer science major, and I am not going to do the TAG because I just started school this spring. I only have 24 units so far.
So is necessary to finish IGETC for computer science major?
Or Should I use Igetc to fulfill my 60 units requirement since I am not going to apply for UCLA because they have tons of requirement.
Thank You

Depends on whether CS at each UC or CSU is in a division which accepts IGETC in substitution of its own breadth requirements.

For example, Berkeley L&S CS is in the College of Letters and Science, which accepts IGETC, but Berkeley EECS is in the College of Engineering, which does not accept IGETC.

You can use Welcome to ASSIST to see whether IGETC can be used for the major at each UC or CSU.

Note, however, that even if IGETC is accepted, in some cases it may be easier to schedule courses articulating to the breadth requirements at the UCs and CSUs than IGETC courses.
