I am asking this question because I have received contradictory statements from my counselors regarding the minimum gpa. I am planning to transfer as an electrical engineering major and tag requires a 3.0 gpa in required courses. What i was wondering was if I am planning on applying this November, do I need to have my minimum 3.0 required courses gpa already, or do I have a chance to raise it by the end of this fall semester? Thanks.

According to the UCI website you need a 3.2...

From the looks of this you need a 3.2 by Summer 2012. But certainly read over it yourself to double check.

need at least 3.2 gpa for tag or else you will get rejected. Well its just TAG, you still have normal application to do, if you somehow raise that gpa up in fall then your chance will boost up. Fall semester by far the most important of all.

Yes I know I know that uc transferable gpa must be at least 3.2 but I was referring to the required courses gpa for my electrical engineering major. They require a 3.0 minimum gpa for required courses.

"TAG Applicants: any three courses required for the major need to be completed with required grades by the summer prior to the TAG submission period."

You are correct jin7jin7jin7, you only need to have a cumulative 3.0 in your major required courses for TAG. Obviously though, your overall GPA still has to be a 3.2+ BEFORE Fall (for UCI).

"Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in required courses, unless specified otherwise"
