Should we wait to see if we got TAG'd before filling out UC Apps?

Will filling out the UC Application be different if we got a TAG? I see people posting about starting to fill out the app, but won't it be a different process or different questions if you have a TAG?

You fill out exactly the same UC app as everyone else, even if your TAG is approved. So there won't be any difference if you fill it out now or after you've heard about your TAG.

If you need to update your courses if they request you to take anything, there is a January update to post your Fall grades and to correct any discrepancy in upcoming courses for Winter/Spring.

You definitely have to fill out and complete the UC app just like everyone else. But you will hear back about TAG before that. Each UC is a bit different though. I tagged to UC Davis (am going there now) and they actually say it is approved and as long as you complete all planned classes and maintain the GPA you are in. Some UCs say it has been received and you have to wait until April to find out if you are in. So when I filled out my UC app I knew I was 99% sure of being accepted to Davis. There is a place on the UC app where you check if you have submitted a TAG app and to which school. The only thing having the TAG approved did for me, in regards to the UC app, was I didn't stress over my essays as much since I knew I was pretty much in.

NO! You have to fill out the UC app even if you are accepted through TAG! If you are accepted through TAG and you didn't submit a complete UC app, they CAN and WILL revoke your admission. Its one of the requirements for TAG! The application takes time.. you should start ASAP.
