Any Physics major transfers here?

Just thought I'd post this thread to see the type of GPAs/profiles that I'm going up against this application cycle.

My GPA: 3.7 (Applying to Davis only).

Hbu guys?

EDIT: Sorry if my first message sounded kinda cocky... I just reread it and I had to throw this in here: I'm only making this thread so we can share our stats and see what we're gonna be compared against this year. No harm intended.

I'm sorry Cyse00, but I thought the minimum GPA that you needed to be eligible for transfer to a UC was a 2.4? Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.

You're right, cinnabon. My cousin is an astrophysics major. I believe he has a 3.3. All physics, math and chemistry courses completed.

Hmmm, is there anyway you can get your GPA up this quarter Cyse00? As of right now, your application will go straight to the reject pile for all the UCs. :/

mermaker: It's interesting to note that some UCs (Davis is one, I know that for sure) do not take your major preparatory classes into consideration for Physics. So you could have a 4.0 and have zero prereqs + GEs completed and you'd still be accepted (solely on your GPA). Where's your cousin applying specifically?

I know that on assist.org in the writing above where it lists the classes some majors at different schools say something along the lines of, "This major does not require completion of prerequisites for admission as a transfer student." While other majors at various schools say something similar to, "It is recommended that junior level transfer students applying to the major complete the following lower division major requirements or comparable courses..."

There was a pdf doc with UC transfer Q and As (dont remember where it was though). It basically says that Davis doesnt check prereq completion unless u apply to bio or engineering or psych or communications. Sorry about the bad spelling, im on my iPad.

I thought I was the only physics major on here this year! 3.95 with all prereqs complete. I applied to nearly all the UCs, but Davis is probably my top choice at the moment!

I have some good opportunities there, and that's what I want out of a university. I'm not simply looking at the school with the "best" department, because that doesn't matter too much for undergraduates.
