If i signed up for CC during Summer of 2009, had a class but dropped it before the term started and SUMMER 2009 shows up on my unofficial transcript with no courses listed under it, am i supposed to put summer of 2009 as when i first started cc or am i supposed to start with the term that i actually took classes?

You can start with the summer term and just put "not enrolled" (it'll make sense when you are looking at the UC application).
