Is every student required to pay the registration fee and whatever fees prior to the due date August 15th posted in e-Bill? Are we allowed to wait for the financial aid coming in and pay the fee after that?
BTW, how do we know that we receive Cal Grant because the financial aid package does not mention it. Is it included in the Pell-grants and UG scholarship?
The CARS award section shows a breakdown of your tuition & fees. They are dumping your financial aid into your CARS account in phases. First to cover tuition & registration fees, next to cover housing & other misc fees, then finally the rest will post in CARS by Aug 15. You will get a refund of the excess on Aug 20. Your financial aid should cover your registration fees & you should not be coming out of your pocket. My fees have already been covered in the CARS award section. (do not confuse it w/ the f/a award section). Also you will be officially registered on Aug 10. I was really confused about how the awards post & had to call 4 times for them to explain it.
Thank you very much luvtolearn. In fact, a fin. aid representative just answered my question through email too. His reply doesn't really explain things as clear as you do, but the main point is that I don't have to pay out of my pocket the entire fees. Working part-time and coming from a low-income family, I depends on the fin. aid most of the time.
If I could have have been rich, I hadn't had to worry about all these expenses.
