This is also the dumbest statement that I've ever heard. A no-name LAC is better than a top UC!!!!!!!! LOL ... Go ask somebody around you to see if they know anything about that Ponoma college.

its not a matter of who knows what. Its a matter of education.

Here are rankings by prestige:

These college "prestige rankings" are anything but precise, but they should give you a rough estimate as to how colleges are considered by employers, graduate schools, and the American public.
You would be surprised at how high bowdoin and pomona rank compared to ucla.

Did you even attend any of those LAC including Ponoma college to conclude that they're better than UCLA?

I dont need to. Everyone knows that the education there is ivy-caliber.

Just because both you and LAX dont know, doesnt mean thats what EVERYONE ELSE thinks.

Haha, if you want to spend 4 years preaching for peace and equality while wearing goodwill clothes because it's a "good cause" while your parents drop 45k for tuition go ahead. There's a reason most phD types come from lacs and most b-school/med/law types come from normal uni's.

Allrite...So you do trust that ranking. hmmm How many of those rankings do exist? Hundreds??? Thousands??? How do you know which one to trust?

Okay..Just stick with that "prestige" ranking for the rest of your life.

P/S: Dartmouth is ranked higher than MIT/Columbia/Caltech.....YEP. Nice !!!!!!!

I like how nyu is all of a sudden a top 30 school, while vanderbilt slipped to 39.
