Two A-'s probably won't jeopardize your chances at all....but yes, UC's count A's as a 4.0, A- as a 3.7, and so on. A+ doesn't net you extra though, which kinda sucks.

| Will a W and D affect my chances?
I want to transfer to UCLA and UCB as an engineering major but I'm in a bit of a dilemma. My first two years at CCC I took Calculus 1 and didn't do so well the first couple of times. The first time I took it I dropped it and got a W, then I took it again and got a D. The third time I took it I got an A. I ended up getting all A's in the rest of my math, chem, physics, and engineering courses expect the third physics course (i got a B). Will I have a small chance of being accepted even though I have a 3.79 cum GPA and an upward grade trend. (I also have lots of EC's related to my major). Please help me!! I'm really scared that I won't get in. |

@ocean: OK good. I was a bit nervous when completing my forms because I saw the "A+" option and my mind just totally went blaaaaaaargh.

| About UC TAG
I submitted a UC TAG, but I didn't post a "F" and two "D" grades because I thought I am already retake those classes, so the GPA would not change for them. Later, on the UC application, I did report all of my grades. Now I have been admitted to that school, I am worrying about that after I send the transcript on July, will the school cancel my admission?

can someone help me please - im an incoming UCLA freshman but i want to transfer to Berkeley since it has always been my first choice and UCLA doesn't have the major I want but Berkeley does (industrial engineering aka IEOR). i went on assist.org hoping to see the courses UCLA offers that are comparable to berkeleys requirement but only couldnt find it. seems like they only have information for community colleges. is there any other way or websites that i can see to figure out the transferrable courses and credits needed for intercampus transfer?? any information will be appreciation..THANKS!

I need some help/advise. So I admitted to Davis with a TAG and as a Political Science major. My PGA is 3.3. But I just learned that I will be getting a D in my Spanish class. I needed to take Spanish because I did not have 2 years in Hight School. What will happen? Will Davis revoke my admission? Or do you think they will admit me and let me take a language later? I have dyslexia so foreign languages are extremely hard for me. Is there any possibility they would waive this requirement given my condition?

Hi. I would like to ask "very different" question. My friend transferred to UCLA from ccc BUT she wanted to transfer to UC Berkeley ! Is it really possible ? "UC Berkeley is my dream school. You could not understand this sense of feeling" said to me. She will start to UCLA in Spring semester and she was preparing herself to transfer to UC Berkeley from UCLA.

Currently I am a senior in HS with a 3.6 weighted gpa and 3 AP courses under my belt. Ive applied to a few schools like U of A, Boulder, LSU, Butler, Virginia Tech. No UC or CSU schools because I only have 1 year of foreign language (Chinese). I tried taking Chinese 2 but it was too hard. I will most likely pursue spanish if I go to Santa Monica Community College. I am strongly considering
it because I would like to go to a prestigious school like my parents did (Harvard & UCSB). I want to stay in California for the most part. Id really like to attend UCLA or UCB. But UCSB, Cal Poly SLO, or UCSD would be great. I want to major in Business Economics or Administration. I really only want to stay at SMC for a year & transfer out, is this possible? What about out of state? Im interested in UW. Im really smart and If I study hard Im sure I can get a 4.0. I qualified for the Honors College, do you recommend that I go into that program?

collegegirl, did you look on assist.org to see if anything articulated as the required classes? If there really aren't any, you should look for another nearby CC with the courses, or perhaps find an online version.

Hi, Pleas help me. I was admitted by UCSD yesterday with TAG. The TAG contract said that:" I will have a minimum UC transferable GPA of 3.5 by the end of the fall 2012 term and must maintain an overall UC transferable GPA of 3.5 by the end of the spring 2013 term. " Before I applied the TAG my GPA is 3.59. But right now, after this semester my GPA will drop down to 3.48. It's lower than 3.5 by 0.02. Will they abrogate the admit? Oh, forgot to say, my major is Biomedical engineering, so I really want to transfer to UCSD.

Hi, I was wondering how you do the TAG process? My counselor told me you apply online when September arrives. How do I go about with this process?
