as i know uc to uc transfers are difficult but i feel i should give it a shot. i was accepted to UCD as freshmen but chose UCSC as i felt a need to get away from home. family issues have arrived and my father is currently going through chemotherapy and i dont know how much longer hes going to last so i am thinking about applying to UCD so i can be closer to home. i have a 2.9 gpa should be a 3.0 by end of this quarter majoring in economics, and i finished all my GEs at UCSC, and most of my prereqs should be done by the end of this year. i am also planning on taking summerschool if i dont finish my prereqs. whats my chances.

I believe they take extenuating circumstances like this into account. The UC Davis admissions person posts on this board, I would contact them directly.

UCD Admissions

As with all transfer students this depends on your intended major, units completed and the type of applications we receive. Of course extenuating circumstances are always taken into consideration, but never a guarantee.

well by the end of this year i will have completed 97 credits. i will be applying for the economics major and i will be done with all my prerequisites. i also completed all my GE's at UCSC my freshmen year so all i will be doing now is courses taken for my major.

UCD Admissions

With the units and GPA your application will be competitive. Of course priority will be given to all applicants from California Community Colleges first, so I can’t guarantee anything.
