Does the Winter 08 term count?

If we update our Fall 07 term grades to the UCs before acceptance letters come out, I'm guessing they don't look at Winter 08 grades for their decision, am I correct? Winter 08 + Spring 08 + Summer 08 are all terms, once decided (if admitted) that sustain your guarantee?

I ask this because my gpa after Fall 07 is 3.3, but I saved all the easy classes for Winter 08, and can easily get get a 3.75 at the least that quarter and 3.75 in the Spring, hopefully raising my cumulative GPA to around 3.5ish.

It you can start to fill out your update without your winter grades but if you get your winter grades before the deadline is up (February 15 for every UC except UCLA, UCSD, and UCD) then I believe they want you to turn in your winter grades.

jan 2 - winter begin
feb 5 - winter end

go el camino! go lacc! kkk

from what I know, feb 15 is the due date for fall grades and during that period you can update your planing classes for spring and summer.
if your winter grades are available before feb 15, you can also update the grades as well as your planing class, and the uc will look at them. that's what i know. any wrong?

So let's say we don't get winter grades by feb 15, but they ended up being really good (straight A's), and we get rejected by, say, UCLA.
Is that enough of a reason to appeal the admissions decision later on?

alansda,

You can appeal a rejection for any reason. If you mean to ask "Is that enough of a reason for an appeal to be successful?" then I'd say.... I have no idea TBH!

If your class ends Feb 2, why don't you just talk to your professor, explain the situation, and without a doubt, s/he can most likely get you your final grade by your UC deadline + some time to spare.

It seems like a rather simple solution. Of course, if you feel your grade will hurt your GPA, then use your best judgment accordingly, no?

it says on the UCLA website
UCLA Undergrad Admissions: Transfer Application Update

We want everyone to make their initial application update by January 31st, but if you have more changes to report that come up after January 31 (e.g., winter session grades), please return to the site an make an additional update. The site will remain open through the end of March.

wlfkfrkrls--WHY wouldn't it count in your GPA if you get it turned in on time?

Am I missing something?
