I know a lot of people say its hard or impossible to change majors when you transfer into a school. I was wondering if its possible to take up a minor?
wait so if we do plan to minor we have to take lower division classes for that minor to and not just the uppder division when we transfer? so double major is the smae thing?
No, for instance, at UCSD, a major such as Sociology requires like 14 uppdivs, while Business Minor (something new coming up in Fall of 08) only require 6 upperdivs. I don't think their are any prereqs to a minor, I'm not sure, you may want to correct me on that.
Some minors do have lower division pre-reqs. The Berkeley CS minor, for example, requires completion of the lower division sequence before granting you advanced standing for upper division course registration. You don't have to complete the lower division courses before you transfer, though.
