IP coursework/time in school

Will IP coursework in spring hurt one's chances for acceptance into fiercely competitive major?

a)For example, lets say a certain somebody has completed only 5 out of 7 pre-reqs for bizecon (UCLA) by the time of winter update, how will this affect his chances?

b)Also how much will time spent in school affect one's chances? Lets say this person had to spend another year in school due to circumstances beyond his control.

c)Is a 3.88 gpa without TAP really good enough?

There are so many worries on this person's mind.....

a.) The more prereqs completed the better; in your case you have completed the majority of the prereqs so I am assuming it will not play a large, if any, role in their decision.

b.) Time in school only matters as far as course load; if your schedule is constantly low in course load and spread out (2-3 classes a semester over the course of 3-4 years lets say) it will translate negatively.

c.) That's a secret.
