| Got into SD...but LA is where i want to go, and thats what worries me... i have around a 3.20 gpa, and my counselor told me that UCSD from my CC is pretty much guaranteed with any GPA over 2.9, and i did get in, but UCLA and possibly USC is where i really want to transfer...anybody have any success stories of people around my GPA with a major of biology? i need some light at the end of the tunnel! |

| Godd luck to you David. I have a friend, who was transfer from CC, had a GPA of 3.3, went to USC. However, her major was in accounting. |

| had a friend get in with a 3.1, non-impacted major.
I think if you are applying for an IMPACTED major I'd feel very uneasy about my chances, unless you have those three magical letters everyone loves,

| What he means by cakewalk is probably referring to the criteria i provided, as it is rather easy to make UCSD from my CC(glendale community college), practically having a 2.9 or above guarantees you into UCSD, which in a sense, is a cakewalk. |

| 2007 stats for UCLA
10,963- total applied
4,665 -admitted
42.55% - admit rate %
87.52% - percent of all admits (including freshman & graduates i think)
3.36 - avg gpa rejected
3.57 - avg gpa accepted
so yes 43 percent does kind of close in on 50%, I was slightly misleading : ). |
