yeah sure i'm going... i've already rsvp'ed
but i was just curious to know who received an invite to this event?
did all transfers or only transfers who indicated that they were interested in eop (education opportunity program)--which is aap (academic advancement program) at ucla--on the app. for admission receive an invite?...
namely can you guys let me know if you can see an invite on the decision page under a link about special events and whether you indicated that you were interested in eop on the app?..
because i know that aap is for students from underrepresented backgrounds

log on to your decision page at
https://www.admissions.ucla.edu/Decision/Login.aspx
in the side column, there should be some link called 'you're invited! special events for new bruins'
do you see anything about aap's scholars' day?

so did you people who received an invite indicate that you were interested in eop on the application for admission?

i believe ucla's aap defines 'underrepresented' as meeting one of the following criteria:
low income and first generation,
african american,
latino/hispanic,
native american

so if you do meet one of the criteria and are interested in aap, you should probably contact someone soon, especially if you do want to attend scholar's day

Students are eligible to be in AAP if their academic profiles and personal backgrounds may impact their university experience and their retention and graduation from UCLA. They are also eligible if they are part of any federally-funded program that requires counseling, tutoring, or mentoring.

I JUST GOT IN UCLA!

For future hopefuls: If you get rejected, and come from an underrepresented group and/or disadvantaged, contact the CCCP and they will work with you

Affirmative action ****es me off because it allows some people to get a free ride with NO merit. Let your academic achievements open doors for you not your skin color.

(I'm not saying this directly to you alansda. I am just saying this in general)
