I've been looking at Cal merchandise online today. On Sunday I saw a guy (French tourist) wearing a really cute jacket that said "Cal Berkeley 1968" (maybe not exactly like that). It was mostly blue with white and gold stripes going down the sleeves, very obviously vintage-inspired if not a knock-off of a real jacket from that year (maybe for the swim team? or did/do they have a polo team?). I have no idea where he got it, but I want one! Actually, I will want one in 7 days.

Major: Geography (yes, another Social Science)
GPA: 3.96
Prereqs: mostly done (one is not offered at any CCC nearby, but the geog undergrad advisor said it is OK not to have it since I can take an upper div. course to satisfy it)
ECs: Work 40 hrs/week plus volunteering
Essay: so-so

luvtoolearn: i'm actually scared of heights so jumping off a tall building really wouldn't be an option for me. Oh i'm kind of scared of dying as well, so yea....suicide is out I guess. If I get rejected i'm going to meditate under a bodhi tree until I reach enlightenment. Either that or just get really drunk.

I am so glad I applied as Classical Civilizations instead of Hisotry considering how competitive it seems this year.

Wow, I just found out about this site today, which is kind of good, just a week before admission decisions, I think if I'd known about this two years ago I would've been posting everyday, lol.

Anyone wanna let me know what my chances would be of getting into Berkeley? It's my number 1.

My Stats

GPA: 3.8
Major: Sociology (I've taken almost all the sociology classes at Cypress College)
E.C.: Youth Group Leader, Sociology Club President, Honors Club Executive Board, Student Anti-Genocide Coalition Founder @ Cypress College, also work at Disneyland 20 hours a week
Personal Statements: I was happy with them

daneortega - Those are very nice stats with great ECs relative to your major and you have work experience. I'd say you are a definite match for UCB.
