Yeah see I'm from here and I don't think I would want to go to UCB. Its a different kind of area.

Of course I'm considering USC too, it's my top choice. But, getting rejected today is making me feel really uneasy, so I'm just trying to sort out my options from the schools that I *did* get accepted to!

veganprincess - I am under the Media Studies specialization at SDSU. What I have heard about SDSU: the class offerings are more plentiful at State versus UCSD. But I also heard that there is no diversity in the professors at SDSU. I have not personally looked into this myself.

I think I've ruled out UCSB because it's so much research and theory, I don't think I'd be into it, plus it doesn't have as much to offer me as the LA area. At least if I went to SD, I'd be living with my cousin, who is one of my best friends!

I've heard the program at Fullerton is stellar, very hands-on... but it's a huge commuter school. =/ I'm not really looking for that in a school either so, I'm totally at a crossroads.

If USC accepts me, then it basically fills all my requirements, heh.

i'm probably going to ucsb for comm.

my gpa is horrible so i'm doubting ucb. i'm still going to wait until i have a final rejection on 4/30 from them before i submit my sir because i've heard of miracles from them.

p.s. applied to ucb for rhetoric. anyone else apply for rhetoric? i don't think i've seen anyone here apply to cal for rhetoric.

**** UCLA Comm Studies.

I mean, sure, a 3.63 GPA isn't of the highest caliber. But I had all pre-reqs successfully completed, even one not articulated at most CCCs. & I know my essay was strong.

Now, the question is, UCSB or UCSD?
I haven't heard the best things from those who go to UCSD so I think I'll probably go to Santa Barbara. It's only two more years. And I have the comfort of knowing that I'll have a good college experience.

& hey, there's always grad school right?

Yeah both ucsd and ucsb don't seem to have my favorite comm departments. BUT ucsb has the great college community and ucsd is gorgeous...

UGH we need to start listing pros and cons

Believe me, my heart isn't set on SB or SD. But those are my only choices as of now.

Does anybody know how hard it is to get into Cal as mass comm? Is it as competetive as UCLA?

I thought UCLA's admit for comm is something under 20% and the only stat I have heard for UCB is 38% for the department that mcomm is in.

I just got accepted to UCB for Mass Comm, so it is definitely easier to get into than UCLA's program.

I'm really surprised that I got in. Throws a wrench in my decisions, but it still looks like UCSD if not USC (because I don't want to move to NorCal).
