| Will Ws block your path to LA guys please help me,
what would be better for a competitive transcript to UCLA, a B or W? B would lower my overall GPA a little bit, my current GPA is 3.85 major engineering.
thanks |

| Depends on the course you're taking. |

| If it is a course you need, and you can get an A the second time around, then a W is better. If you're just going to get a B second time around, or worse, skip the W. |

| the course is not required by UCLA, like it s physic tier 1, while UCLA needs Physics series tier 2 |

| uh oh transferstd, a B in non-calculus-based physics might look funny on your transcript. It's not too late to get an A -- just push harder.
Side note: why are you taking that course anyway? shouldn't you be taking the other p-series. |

| TheIcon, actually, at my CC, tier 1 physic is still a calculus based physics (in description) , but according to assist.org, UCLA doesnt need tier 1 physics, so then ... i have B+ in class, which i cannot push it up to A at the end of this sem i guess
and, my first choice wasnt UCLA until recently i changed my mind |

| Okay. At your school, what is tier one physics, and how does it differ from tier 2 physics?
I'm of the opinion that a B+ in that class, if indeed it is calculus-based, looks more attractive than a B/B-. A- would be even better. |

| Is it a pre-req for your major? If not, you could just take it C/NC. Otherwise, I would take a W instead of a B. That is if you know you can get an "A" the second time around. |

| my school is A/B/C system, doesnt matter if B-, B+, still B
tier 1 physics is almost the same as tier 2, same material, cover same things, heat, electric, optic, etc , but the tier 1 physic classes are entitle Physics, while the tier 2 physic classes are General Physics, there are 2 tier one physics classes and 3 tier 2 physics classes
is it a requirement that you need to retake W classes?
thanks guys |
