wow... your gpa is good, the ONLY reason I can think of why you got rejected is that your an international student. But hey, atleast you got into SD... I only applied to LA and Cal... I'm seriously screwed if I don't get into one of these schools.

You should definitely at least call the admissions office to see what you can address in your letter of appeal. I'm sorry, it's a shame that you got rejected. It might be because you are an international student (it seems their luck is much worse, which sucks and is unfair). Hopefully your luck with UCB is better!!!

p.s. since your friends were admitted as psychology major with a similar gpa as mine, I guess my problem was the essay and/or extracurriculars (I don't know how your essay or extracurriculars were). Were your friends' apps outstanding in those areas?

I would look at the appeal as part of the admission process. You were rejected in the first round, now it is time for you to appeal. That is why appeals exist, to fix mistakes, to make sure the process is fair.

Thank you Andi and good luck to you!! You'll have much better luck with Cal. Pre-congra to you..hahaha!!

and also thanks wishfulone. I don't know if my friends are outstanding in those areas... they are internatinal students as well. I went to the writing center before I submit the UC application, those instructors said my essay looks good, and they love it. So.. I have no idea what the problem is. Maybe because of the EC or some other area. Or maybe they think I am not eligible since I only took 46 units at the time I applied.

I will call the admission office today...and I think I should begin my appeal letter... lol

good luck to you guys!!

I called them again and another lady said they did get my update and what she said was came from misunderstanding..
this was so unexpected... I was ready to change my life along with the acceptance... my whole plan on going around the world over the summer has been colapsed... only applied to ucla and ucb and got rejected from both.
appeal is my last chance now.
