I'm in a weird situation (UCLA)

Ok... today I found out that I got rejected from UCLA.

So I called the admissions office and asked what was the reason for my

rejection, and she said as far as what she knows, I did not submit my work in

progress which I did.. I told her that I did all my updates, but it seemed

like she can't really do anything about it and just told me to take the appeal

process. Wow... I'm very confused at this moment. did anybody who got

rejected got the same reponse as me also? or am I in some type of an

unusual situation? I mean... I don't even know what to write in my appeal

letter if that is the case... any advice?

your situation sucks and it is unavoidable, some people get unlucky and get cheated out of a fair acceptance.
Call again and again and again and again then finally accept the fact that you need to appeal.
GOOD LUCK

My UC gpa was 3.7 at the time I applied.

and I thought I had a good chance of getting in as a psych major.

Sorry to hear that. That really sucks.
But if it was their fault, it looks like you have a shot at your appeal... Sincere good luck to you.

I'm a psych major and got rejected too with a 3.8x. The only other person I know who is my major also got rejected to UCLA with a 3.8-3.9. Guess it's much more competitive than last year.

you should also call UCLA and ask why you could not get in.

and I hope what she told me is true

oh I forgot to say why I didn't call yet...
I was in class from 1 to 4 today (which I received my decision), so I didn't get the chance to call yet.

They'll probably say something like "your essay sucked."

Hi, Andi..

I just got rejected from UCLA this morning, and I feel really disappointed.

My stats:
GPA 3.86 (when I submitted the application), now is 3.89
Psychology Major
International student
Completed all major requirements and IGETC before transfer.
Completed 95 units before transfer
I've been admitted to UCSD and UCR, I didn't apply for others... =[ I only applied for UCSD, UCR, UCLA and UCB.

I've received the alumni call a couple weeks ago... I agree with someone who mentioned "what's the point of doing a scholarship if I didn't get in yet". I don't have a chance to apply even I've already requested a recommendation letter from my English instructor. It seems like UCLA gave me a hope but then destroy it.

This is my Fifth quarter (Spring), actually I spent only a year in college but I still want to transfer to UC within this year. I began my college life since the last spring (04/2007). When I submitted the application, it showed my grades for three quarters, exclude the winter and spring terms. I am not sure if this is the reason for UCLA to reject me. =[[[

I know some of my friends who are psychology major have been admitted to UCLA. Their GPA is similar to mine but a bit lower.

I don't know if UCLA did see my updated information, because I changed some order of the courses when I submit the updated application.

I am wondering should I call the UCLA admission? or should I begin my appeal process? or can somebody just tell me not to be hopeful for UCLA anymore?

=[[[[ I understand the feeling of you guys who've been rejected coz I am in the same situation... alone, weep, disappointing.

Thank you for you guys kindly response.
