does anyone think it would be a good idea to just submit the SIR for ucb so I can stop obsessing about choosing between ucla and ucb? i am planning to go there two weekends from now, but i'm not sure i can wait that long with all this anxiety about making the decision.

ultimately, cal has the better english program, righttttt? and going to ucla because i'm afraid of moving so far from home is a horrible way to make this decision, right? so i should just go with the best school? yesss?

i would really appreciate it if someone could make this decision for me.... =]

Sounds like you made your mind. Go to Berkeley!!
I am choosing UCLA over berkeley but its always been my first choice. Berkeley is an awesome school and as we all know the number one public school. Everyone wants to be number 1 right? Well I actually want to be number 3 ha. But the real reason is I want to get an MBA and cal does not like you applying to there mba program if you already went there for undergraduate so I think UCLA to Cal will be the best route and best of both worlds. Unless in 4-5 years I get into Harvard ha. I never thought I would get into berkeley so who knows!
I am going to Frame my acceptance letter though.
USC, UCSD, UCLA, and BERKELEY!!

The best store to buy Berkeley gear is T-Shirt Orgy on Telegraph--easily the biggest and best selection. I just bought my sweatshirt there yesterday.

If you've already submitted the SIR, disregard this.....

My friend was in your position last year (english major, accepted to both, from socal...). His take on it was that the english dept at call is not that much greater than the english dept at ucla. And his family lives in socal. And the weather is better. And etc.. In the end he choose ucla.

Chumpree: If you have never been to Berkeley, I suggest waiting until you visit. I thought for sure I would choose SDSU if I wasn't accepted at Cal, but I had never visited the campus before. As soon as I spent a day there, I realized it wasn't for me (beautiful campus, but I don't think I would fit in as a student). Pictures and videos do help a lot, but until you actually step foot on the campus and get a chance to talk to students on the campus, you will not know if it is the right place for you.
