The "I am going to a different school than UCLA/Cal" thread

So... I got denied to UCLA and Cal. I just submitted appeals to both of them. I am going to check out UCSB really soon then submit my SIR.

How many of you are turning to your alternate school because you were denied at UCLA and Cal?

Too bad they didn't admit me. I have excellent grades this semester. They would have gotten a great student. Their loss >.<

I am thinking of UCD since UCB rejected me, again. How do appeals work?

yea I'm sure UCLA and CAL will crash and burn in the next 3 years because TheCaliforniaLife on collegeboard was such a great loss.

I got into LA and Berkeley but I don't understand what the big deal is with those schools. I'm going to SD most likely.

Eirenarch - Even U.S. News and World Reports admits that the difference between a number 1 school and a number 25 school is very slight. Choosing the school with the best fit is the most important thing. If a school has faculty members whose research interests match your own, then that is the school to choose.

In at UCLA, SC, SB, Davis. Rejected at Cal.

1. Davis 2. Santa Cruz

I'm going to appeal at Cal, but have no qualms about the rejection. I think I have a 50/50 chance through appeals.

Don't waste time appealing unless you have a reason like I typed F instead of A for my grades.
