Choices: UCB, UCLA, UCSD

So here's the deal: I got into UCB, UCLA, and UCSD as a Computer Science major. However, I really want to change my major to Political Science. I contacted the universities and they informed me it would be really difficult to switch. One option would be to go into the school as a CS major and then apply/petition the PS department to let me in (no guarantees). I REALLY do not want to continue Computer Science. It frustrates me to no end and there is just no passion for it. I already have my lower divison PoliSci classes finished with A's so I din't see the reason why I wouldn't be able to switch. Any help would be great.

BTW, here's my stats:

GPA: 3.34
No TAP/agreements
Major: Computer Science/Engineering
Ton of internships/ECs
Accepted: UCLA, UCB, UCSD, UCD, UCSB, UCSC.
Rejected: UCR, UCI (go figure)

I think you should go to Berkeley. Especially if you want to switch to Poli Sci.

Btw who did you talk to at Berkeley? Do you think you can give me a phone number?

did you talk to ucsd about switching?? its fairly simple, whereas with Cal you have to continue in that major for a certain amount of time showing that you wont slack off, and then they might let you switch

Yeah, the thing is that if I go to UCB as a Computer Science major and try to apply/petition for the Political Science program, there's no guarantee I'll be let in. I feel that if I finish my education with a CS degree, it'll be all for naught because I didn't enjoy the process.

Blue: I talked with UCSD and they said it was possible. But I want to know what UCB and UCLA has to say first. The only thing holding me back from UCSD is their housing situation for transfer students. It's just really inconvenient and annoying. Another option is going to UNC-Chapel Hill, where I was accepted as a Poli Sci major.

Choosing college shouldn't be this stressfull!

I'm from Sacramento, btw.

Yeah their housing for transfers is...nothing, lol

but, the UTC housing closeby is actually cheaper than on campus, and its about a 5 min bus ride, and they have shuttles running every 15 min or so...also, they arent bad at all, reviews arent great on them but i dont think theyre bad

and yey sac : ) hahaha

Blue: Thanks for all the great info! So far, UNC-Chapel Hill seems like my first choice.

However, UCSD does have a really good PoliSci program but the housing is really breakin' my balls! I'll check out UTC and see what's it about.
