First semester in CCC?

I'm going to Community college in fall 08 and I wonder what was your class on your first year of the Fall season? Also, should I take a summer course, if so, what kind of class should I take there? Any advice would be great. Oh yeah, I don't really know what I'm going to do or have any direction in life. Can you listed all your classes please? Thanks.

I think it depends on your major.. If you have decided what your major is, then go to assist.org.. On there you can find prereqs for your major.. assist.org helps a lot, especially if you are planning to transfer to any universities in CA..

1st semester I took calculus I, physics, English, and some other classes.. so, good luck..

I would get started on your math as soon as possible. You could end up wanting a math-intensive major only to find out you can't get to that last math class (or a class that requires that math class, whatever) in time. Other than that, you're probably safe sticking to math, english, a science and some sort of humanity (spanish, history, whatever) your first semester

I am also starting my first year at CC, and I will be taking one summer class (English) while working.

Any suggestion on how many credits i should take for the fall semester?

btj223- at my CC they offer some classes that are one unit but give you an opportunity to learn about a specific career field, I am probably just as confused as you are, but taking those classes can't really hurt. =)

i remember my first semester at cc, i was confused on the whole transfer process, thanks to the person who didn't know jack at orientation and some counselors who don't know what they are talking about, my first semester was horrible in every way to make it short. But yeah just take 12 units in the fall just to ease your way in and get use to it. Starting off a class in the summer is a good idea, especially English, if its the transferable one. The person who gave the orientation suggested i sign up for all those 1 units counseling career classes, but i thought they were a waste of time so i didn't sign up for them thank god, they should have career workshops, i went one of those instead at my second cc.

First you need to find out where you they place you in math and english. If you have prerequisities to complete, you need to complete those first in order to start taking transferable courses.
