Haas Foreign Language

I'm planning to apply to Haas after two years of CC (which I will start attending after I graduate from high school in '09) and am currently taking Spanish 1 and was planning to take Spanish 2 my senior year thinking it fulfills the IGETC foreign language and the Haas foreign language but on assist.org it says foreign language is satisfied by "Receiving a grade of C- or higher in high school courses comparable to the
third year level of any language other than the language of high school
instruction."

So my question is if taking Spanish 2 next year in high school is basically a waste of time because it doesn't satisfy the foreign language for Haas and that I will be taking Spanish (or something else) 1 and 2 in CC to do so. Any help would be appreciated.
