I think summer school is a great idea. Just by looking briefly at the course descriptions, IAS45 for 8 weeks sounds like the better option for summer school, since it seems pretty straight forward.
I would do IAS 45 as it is a pre-req to declare PEIS. I assume you are planning on PEIS? Also, the 8 weeks certainly sounds more appealing. I am taking it this summer also.
