How does quarter system work?

I'm new to the quarter system and I have no idea how many classes I should enroll for fall, winter, and spring.
I heard that winter is a really short quarter and so we should register for less units?

Can anyone suggest how many classes I should enroll for each quarter?
How many quarter units are considered full time?

My major is Biz-Econ by the way

Thank you

No. All 3 quarters (fall winter spring) are approximately 12 weeks. 12 units is full time. Depending on the type of classes you take and the level of difficulty, but students usually take on average 3-4 classes. (12-16 units.) However you may take as much as 21.5 i believe.

10 weeks, not 12.

10 full weeks. Meaning for fall for example, because of the thanksgiving break, classes will start on like a Wed/Thur of week 0 to compensate for the loss of those 2 days off at later weeks.

First quarter take 3 classes- because you are going to have to take Econ 11 i assume, which has a lot of math-y word problems, not hard stuff but requires work usually.

Then for winter and spring decide if you want to try 4 classes which would be 16 units.

no there is not a WHOLE week of study time. Classes end one week, finals are the next week.

I dont remember exactly but i am quite certain finals are on week 10, so there is 9 weeks of instruction.

but usually your class will end on like M/W and then the final will be on a M/W type of deal, so you almost get a whole week to study in between anyways.

Photographic memory FTW! kidding, kidding. Would kill for one of those, though.

I'm actually kind of excited for the pace. I'm sure it'll wear off, but for now, I'm excited.

apparently we're not allowed to do the scream if we live on campus, during finals. =/ which is ridiculous because i'm sure EVERYONE will be doing it. but we can do it OFF campus where we can ruin the sleep of other city folk.
