Straight A's and you will be fine. I got 6 F's a W and a D for my freshman year at a 4-year, so I couldnt retake any. I did pretty bad after that, and then with about a 2.02 I got straight A's for a year and got into UCSD and USD for this fall. I had about a 3.0 after fall when I got in, and now with spring done, I think my cumulative is about a 3.2. But at my CCC i have a 3.92 with like 44 semester units, but I doubt that matters, because they look at cumulative gpa. Anyway, retake what you can (classes with any D's or F's) but just do well from here on out, and maybe write about a change in your attitude towards education in your essay and you WILL get into UCSD and UCI even if there are admission cuts. I bet if you wrote a really good essay, got straight A's from here on out (including one in a recent math course), and had all the pre reqs done, you would have a good shot at UCLA. Just dont get discouraged by all the people on this board with high gpa's... . Other people get into, you just have to give it a shot. I got discouraged at first, but then I realized that grades arent EVERYTHING, just show an upward trend and some personality. |
