UCD Winter 2009 Transfer Help!

Hi everyone! It's nice to meet you all!

Okay so, I go to a community college and I've signed a TAG agreement about a year ago and it said that I was set to apply for UCD in winter 2009 as a Biological Science Major. By the time I transfer (winter 2009), I would have completed IGETC as well as all the science and math classes required for my major. So I got an email recently telling me it's time to apply for UCD (July 1-31) and to my surprise, the application says that UCD isn't accepting any new applicants during the Winter/Spring 2009, but they are accepting Fall 2009. What's going on? Is there no way that I could transfer to UCD by Winter 2009 even though my TAG agreement states that I could? Does this mean that I have to wait until the Fall of 2009 to finally transfer, meaning that I have to waste about 9 months waiting?

Thanks for your help!

You should be ok with a TAG. When they say not taking any applicants, they probably mean through the regular application. Hopefully UCD admissions will chime in to correct me.

hey thanks for your reply!

yeah I hope you're right. I mean for the past two years I've told my community college counselors, as well as the UC Davis Representative at my community college that I'll be transferring to UCD in Winter 2009, and they've all given me the "a-okay" on it. Then about 6 months prior to transferring and they throw this "not accepting new applicants" in my face. Totally caught me off guard.

I heard UCD is only taking TAG applicants for winter, so I think you're safe. I guess you can make sure with your community college though? My friend wanted to sign a TAG with his community college, but they said they have to go to DeAnza cause that's one of the community colleges that offer the TAGs for winter.

Yes only students with approved TAG agreements may apply to UC Davis for the Winter 2009 term since we must honor the contract. This makes it extremely important to follow the direction in the email since the application will not allow you to choose UC Davis if the application is started with the incorrect information.

Students without approved TAG agreements for Winter 2009 will not be able to apply for the Winter Term.
